Families appreciate the open fields where children can play safely, as well as the friendly farm animals in adjacent pastures. The location is a major draw, providing easy access to walking trails, the Monsal Trail, and charming villages like Tideswell and Bakewell, with a pub within walking distance. A nearby café serves excellent breakfasts and even pizza delivery on select days, and firewood and fire pits are available for purchase. Guests highlight the outstanding value for money given the quality of facilities and stunning setting. However, the lack of enforced quiet hours means late-night noise from other campers can be a problem, with loud music and conversations continuing into the early hours. Vehicles occasionally drive too fast across the fields, which can feel intrusive. The showers require repeated pressing of a button to keep water flowing, and there is no hot water for washing dishes, forcing guests to boil kettles. The dishwashing area is unsheltered, leaving it exposed to rain. On bank holiday weekends the fields can feel cramped, with tents pitched closely together, though midweek stays are much more peaceful. Mobile signal is poor and there is no WiFi, though this is stated on the website.
