Nestled directly on the shores of the Lech reservoir, this large campsite in the Allgäu region boasts stunning mountain views and a truly scenic setting. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with excellent cycling routes, hiking trails, and the famous Wieskirche nearby. The spacious pitches can accommodate a variety of setups comfortably, though the ground turns into thick mud after heavy rain, causing serious issues. The sanitary facilities are repeatedly praised as exceptionally clean, modern, and well-maintained, which is a consistent highlight for guests. The staff are frequently described as friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Families are well catered for with wonderful children's playgrounds and child programs, while dog owners are thrilled with the large fenced dog park, designated walking routes, and provided waste bags. The on-site restaurant serves delicious food, though its menu is limited and closures on Mondays can be inconvenient. A small shop offers basic provisions but is often considered too small for the site's size. Wi-Fi is available but costs extra and performs poorly, which disappoints many. Security is a notable weakness, as the expansive grounds have multiple unguarded entrances and no wristband system, allowing unauthorized access. The booking process has caused frustration, with some guests assigned to crowded tent meadows despite requesting regular pitches. The site no longer accepts the ACSI discount card, and prices have increased significantly, leading some to feel that value for money has dropped. The nearby village of Lechbruck offers limited activities and only one pleasant dining option. Despite these drawbacks, the overwhelming majority of guests would return, praising the cleanliness, staff, and suitability for both seniors and families. The campsite also offers a bread roll service, service machines with organic products, and a guest card that provides free public transport and discounts on attractions.
