Tucked beside a serene lake and surrounded by forest, this campsite has long been praised for its spectacular natural setting and peaceful atmosphere. Over the years, guests have consistently adored the spacious, level pitches that offer a good balance of sun and shade. The surrounding woodlands provide excellent hiking and the chance to spot moose, while the lake beckons for canoeing and kayaking, with rentals available from the owners. The village of Venjan, just 1.5 km away, has a well-stocked supermarket for supplies, and the area is ideal for cycling. In its early years, the staff earned repeated applause for their friendliness and welcoming approach, and the on-site restaurant served solid, satisfying meals. The sanitary facilities, though older and a bit cramped, were kept clean when properly managed, though their size never quite matched the site's natural grandeur. Recent seasons, however, have seen a dramatic decline. After the original Dutch owners returned home and the site was put up for sale, temporary managers arrived but rarely interacted with guests. Hot water failed on the first day of one visit, and a plumber later locked the entire toilet block, leaving some arrivals without any access to facilities. The site became cluttered with dead leaves and debris, with no one cleaning or tidying the amenities. While a handful of visitors still call it a feel-good place with friendly hosts, far more report neglect, emptiness, and a sense that only payment collection is handled. The only consistent bright spots in later years have been a reliable Wi-Fi connection and the unchanged beauty of the waterfront location. The value for money is now widely questioned, as the price no longer matches the neglected condition of the site. Once a peaceful retreat celebrated for its lake views and quiet charm, the campsite now struggles with a fundamental lack of care and management.
