Nestled between woodlands and the Henschotermeer, this campsite offers a unique location for both lake days and forest hikes or bike rides on the heath. The nearby city of Amersfoort provides excellent shopping opportunities, while the campsite itself features a lively kids' animation program for younger guests. Pitches are spacious, with some luxury options measuring up to 200 square meters and offering 16-amp electricity, fresh water hookups, and waste water drainage. The sanitation buildings are brand new, exceptionally clean, and well maintained, reflecting the overall high standard of upkeep across the entire property. A small restaurant and a quirky chip bus in a vintage English double-decker serve fries, snacks, and ice cream, though some visitors find the food pricey and below par. For entertainment, several playgrounds dot the site, and the adjacent lake is freely accessible to campers via gate access, though the gates can feel restrictive to a few. Unfortunately, leeches in the lake discourage swimming for some, and stone martens and field mice have been spotted on the premises, with mice gnawing through awnings on multiple occasions. The lack of a swimming pool is noted as a drawback, as the lake does not fully compensate for this absence. Subboarding and fishing are not permitted in the lake, limiting water-based activities. The on-site shop has limited opening hours, which can be inconvenient for guests needing supplies. This campsite has long been cherished by visitors, with one guest recalling over 25 years of happy weekends spent there with family. The location offers a wonderful setting for cycling, allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding area on two wheels. Many appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the sense of tradition that comes with returning year after year. The site provides a welcoming environment for families and individuals alike. Its natural surroundings make it an ideal base for outdoor activities. Overall, the campsite balances natural beauty and family-friendly amenities with a few practical shortcomings.
