This large sprawling campsite sits beside a lake and directly adjacent to a motorway, so incessant traffic noise is a serious drawback even on pitches farthest from the road. On the plus side, the lake offers swimming, canoeing, cable water-skiing, and wakeboarding. Pitches are generally spacious and practical, some with water and drainage hookups, though overall grounds maintenance can be inconsistent. The staff consistently receive high marks for being exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive, making guests feel welcome. The on-site restaurant serves regional, tasty food with super service, and a small kiosk sells bread rolls, fries, and sausages. Mobile homes and caravans are described as very clean and functional. Sanitary facilities receive mixed feedback: some find them clean and well-kept, while others note they are aging and overdue for renovation; there is also concern that only one toilet block serves the entire site. Dog walking opportunities are limited to a rough patch at the back. The campsite works well as a stopover for north–south travel, and is a good base for excursions to Freiburg, the Kaiserstuhl, Glottertal, or Alsace. Extended stays are less recommended due to the constant motorway noise and limited amenities. Many guests appreciate the large pitches and the clean, practical accommodations. The team’s responsiveness and open ear for guest concerns are frequently highlighted. Overall, it is a convenient transit site with a lovely lake, but noise and dated facilities hold it back for longer holidays.
