Nestled in the Carmarthenshire countryside, this campsite offers a wonderfully peaceful retreat with stunning views across the Towy Valley. The owner, Simon, is consistently praised for his warm welcome, helpful advice, and attentive service, including helping guests level their vans and refunding unused electricity. Pitches are generously sized, level, and well-maintained, with many divided by hedges for added privacy, each having access to water and electric hookups. The toilet and shower facilities are repeatedly described as spotless, modern, and of a very high standard, with outstanding water pressure and warmth, though they are located off the main pitch area in the courtyard. A dedicated dog walking area where pets can be let off the lead is a popular bonus for those traveling with dogs. The site is adult-only, ensuring a calm and relaxing ambiance ideal for solo travelers and couples alike. Its location is ideal for exploring local attractions such as the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, and several castles, with a bus stop right outside providing service to Llandeilo and Carmarthen. An excellent new cycle path in the area is a bonus for active visitors. While situated alongside a road, traffic noise is generally not intrusive and is often masked by birdsong, adding to the overall tranquility. Some guests note a lack of WiFi on pitches, with mobile signals being strong, and a car is needed to reach shops, pubs, and other amenities. Despite these small drawbacks, the site is highly regarded for its excellent value for money, cleanliness, and relaxed atmosphere, making it a favorite for return visits and a convenient stopover for the Irish ferry. The pitch surfaces consist of hard ground and gravel that can become invaded by plants over time, leading to muddy shoes on rainy days, but the sanitary block stands out as a top-notch feature. A covered washing-up area and two Elsan points cover basic amenities, and a welcome pack with information sheets is a thoughtful touch appreciated by many. Guests consistently express a strong desire to return for longer stays, highlighting the site as a top-rated destination for a serene and comfortable break.
