Mornings start with excellent builders' tea and freshly ground coffee, a welcoming touch from the owners. A standout is the wood-fired pizza served at the owner's home, though the return uphill is a short but steep climb. The two-field layout keeps campervans on the upper field, while tents and glamping enjoy the car-free lower field. Pitches are mowed out of tall grass, with mowed walkways that preserve a natural, rustic feel. Compost toilets are basic but well-maintained, though ventilation could be better. Showers have minor temperature control issues, but overall facilities are sufficient for a relaxing stay. The bin area can get untidy and attract wasps, but this doesn't overshadow the site's charm. Staff, especially Phillip, are friendly and helpful, contributing to the warm atmosphere. Campfires are allowed on pitches, adding to the laid-back, unplugged vibe. The location feels delightfully off the beaten track yet remains convenient for exploring Dover, Sandwich, and Deal. While there's no shop or pub on site, the peace and spaciousness more than compensate. It's a true escape that balances rustic simplicity with genuine hospitality.
