Perched on a clifftop with sweeping sea views, this campsite offers direct access to a beautiful, dog-friendly beach via a steep flight of wooden steps. The site is consistently praised for its spotlessly clean facilities, including warm showers and immaculate toilet blocks that are cleaned throughout the day. Guests frequently highlight the exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff, who often escort visitors to their pitches and maintain a reassuring presence. The pitches are spacious, level, and well-laid-out, with both grass and hardstanding options available. On-site dining is a popular highlight, featuring a fish and chip van serving freshly cooked meals alongside a coffee van and breakfast bar. A children's playground and space for games provide entertainment for younger visitors, while the location offers wonderful coastal walks and a convenient bus stop right outside the entrance. The campsite is well-maintained and excellent value for money, making it a popular choice for return visits. However, there is no WiFi on site, and mobile phone signal is often poor or intermittent, which can be frustrating. Road noise from the nearby A12 can be noticeable, especially early in the morning, and the site can become crowded during peak periods, leading to some noise from music or large groups. The steep beach steps pose a significant challenge for those with mobility issues or pushchairs. After rain, parts of the site can become very muddy with drainage problems affecting pathways. Push-button showers may have a short duration and inconsistent water temperature. Some guests note that pitches near the road lack privacy and that there is no on-site shop for forgotten essentials.
