Its standout feature is direct access to a 12-mile circular route around Llyn y fan lakes and the Cambrian Way, making it an ideal base for tackling the Black Mountain and Carmarthen Fans. Campfires are welcomed, adding a rustic, off-grid charm that many treasure. On-site facilities are minimal: a single low-pressure outdoor shower, a couple of bins, and a portable toilet. The main toilet, drinking water tap, and WiFi live across a busy road at the village pub, which opens on weekends and serves well-priced beers and hearty pub food. Motorhome campers are parked in the pub car park, which can feel cramped and noisy, with no grey waste disposal and limited water access. The pub itself is a mixed bag; some guests enjoy warm welcomes and karaoke nights, while others report rudeness and closures that leave campers without promised meals.
