The location is stunning, with a tidy environment that guests consistently praise for its natural charm. However, the pitches are on the smaller side, tucked between trees, which can feel cramped, and the tent area is particularly noted as quite small. Access is via a long, narrow road to Laukvik, though it remains manageable for campervans. The on-site dining experience is highly rated, with delicious local specialties available, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and create a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the warm service, the sanitary facilities are woefully substandard, with outdated blocks, broken toilets left unrepaired, and a token-based shower system that provides four minutes per coin. Cleanliness is a significant concern, with pitches carrying a strong smell of dog urine due to pets being allowed on the spots. The price has increased considerably, with one traveler reporting 350 NOK per night for a caravan with electricity, making value for money a real issue. Guests have noted that the owner tends to overpromise what the campsite actually delivers, adding to the disappointment. Some guests felt the need to pay for firewood at the grill area was a minor drawback, despite wood being readily available. Overall, the campsite is charming and basic, providing a memorable stay with its natural beauty and good service, but aging infrastructure and cleanliness issues significantly impact comfort.
