This campsite offers a stunning location with breathtaking views along a river near the Hardangervidda plateau, providing a wonderfully peaceful and quiet escape. The spacious, open-field setting allows guests to choose their own spot, with plenty of room for tents and caravans, though clear pitch demarcation is absent. The owner greets guests warmly and offers fresh bread rolls for convenience. However, the experience is severely marred by neglected sanitary facilities: there are far too few toilets, leading to long queues at peak times, and cleanliness is poor with overflowing bins, a strong urine smell, and flies. Showers incur additional charges and are basic, and the dishwashing area and small kitchenette are not kept clean. Electricity hookups remain limited despite recent upgrades to 31 operational poles, and a long cable is recommended for the prettier pitches. Weekend crowds overwhelm the amenities, and the manager's strict enforcement of spacing rules can be frustrating even when ample room is available. The campsite does not honor ACSI discount cards, and value for money is questionable given the shortcomings. There is no swimming pool or other extras, appealing mainly to travelers focused on outdoor adventures. One washing machine is available but runs early, and the owner's suggestion to wash at night feels blunt. The magnificent, quiet surroundings go a long way toward redeeming the experience, but with thorough cleaning and renovations, it would be an easy place to warmly recommend.
