This working farm campsite provides a wonderfully peaceful and scenic retreat beneath the iconic peaks of Ingleborough and Whernside in the Yorkshire Dales. It is an ideal base for walkers tackling the famous Three Peaks challenge, with direct access to trails and breathtaking views from every pitch. The atmosphere is back-to-basics and no-fuss, encouraging guests to enjoy the great outdoors. The site is divided into upper and lower fields, with wheelbarrows supplied to help carry gear down the hill to the flatter lower area. A standout feature is the 24-hour stone barn, which serves as a social hub offering free WiFi, charging lockers, vending machines, and seating. A pop-up cafe provides hearty breakfast rolls, pizzas, and bar snacks at reasonable prices, often open at weekends. The on-site shop sells forgotten camping items, firewood, gas canisters, and even midge repellent. Facilities are kept spotlessly clean and include hot, powerful showers, well-maintained toilets, and an indoor washing-up area. The owners and staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Evenings are quiet, with natural sounds like owls and sheep, and a strict 11 pm quiet time ensures a good night's sleep. The site is excellent value for money, with reasonable pitch fees that are appreciated by many visitors. Dogs are welcome without restrictions, and the farm setting adds charm with spring lambs. Families with children find the site accommodating and enjoyable. Mobile phone reception is limited, but the barn’s WiFi helps bridge the connectivity gap. While some pitches are on a slight slope and the hill between parking and the lower field can be challenging when laden with equipment, most guests find these minor inconveniences well worth it for the location. The combination of stunning scenery, meticulous cleanliness, thoughtful amenities, and warm hospitality makes this campsite a firm favorite for return visits.
