Painters Farm Campsite is a small, family-run haven nestled within a working cherry orchard in the Kent countryside, offering a wonderfully relaxing and picturesque retreat. The exceptionally helpful and welcoming hosts, Simon and Karen, go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels at home, consistently earning high praise for their friendliness and local knowledge. The site is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, with spacious, level grass pitches that offer a good amount of privacy. Cars park separately after unloading, which keeps the camping area safe and open, creating a lovely, traffic-free environment ideal for children to play. Toilet and shower facilities are repeatedly described as spotless, modern, and well-maintained, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. A small on-site shop conveniently stocks essentials like fresh milk, eggs, bread, logs, and kindling, making it easy to settle in. Guests can hire fire pits for cozy evenings under fairy lights, adding a special touch to the camping experience. The nearby Alma pub, just a short stroll away, serves excellent food and wood-fired pizzas in a friendly atmosphere. There is a dedicated, fully enclosed field where dogs can run off-lead, a playground next to the pub, and a large field with a public footpath behind the site perfect for walks. The location is fantastic for exploring Faversham, the coast, Canterbury, Herne Bay, and local nature reserves. Free Wi-Fi is generally reliable, though it can be weak in some spots, and noise after hours is managed well by the hosts to ensure a peaceful environment. While some guests note occasional road noise from a distant motorway, the tranquil atmosphere is largely undisturbed. The access road is narrow and requires caution with larger vehicles, and public transport is limited, so a car is recommended. Despite minor points such as occasional early morning tractor noise or a limited shop selection, the overwhelming consensus is that this is a wonderful, well-run site.
