This Baltic Sea campsite offers a spectacular beachfront location and has undergone significant improvements in recent years, but its reputation remains mixed due to persistent issues with management and inconsistent quality. The site features a well-stocked daily supermarket and a praised Italian restaurant serving excellent pizza. Recent upgrades include a new main building and modern sanitary facilities that are frequently described as clean and top-notch. The spacious pitches provide a peaceful atmosphere, especially in early summer, and a short walk leads to a calm beach perfect for coastal enjoyment. Cycling enthusiasts will find it an excellent base for exploring the region, including trips along the dyke to nearby Kappeln. However, the campsite has a troubled history with extreme staff unfriendliness, particularly from the warden couple, who have been reported as rude and lecturing. Past years saw major ongoing construction with only temporary, dirty toilet containers, though these issues have since been resolved. Overfilled waste containers and unkempt grounds were once common complaints. Some guests have reported safety concerns, including encounters with an unrestrained dog and hostile property interactions. Double-booking and overbooking have caused frustration, forcing guests to accept different pitches. Despite these drawbacks, the beautiful toilets and showers are consistently praised and the restaurant keeps earning acclaim. The combination of ocean views and quality amenities makes it a popular seaside choice, but potential visitors should be aware of the historically unpredictable service.
