Perched dramatically along the shores of Brandon Bay, this campsite offers arguably the most stunning coastal and mountain views in Ireland, making it a breathtaking base for exploring the Dingle Peninsula. Its location grants easy access to nearby beaches, walking routes, and scenic drives. The heart of the site is a traditional Irish pub with a warm, lively atmosphere, serving fantastic food like pizzas and often featuring live music. The staff are repeatedly praised as exceptionally helpful and welcoming, creating a friendly, laid-back vibe. Pitches are generally spacious with good privacy, and campfires are permitted, adding to the authentic, communal charm. Dogs are welcome, and the relaxed atmosphere appeals to couples, families, and solo travelers alike. However, the campsite's facilities are a major letdown. There is only one sanitary block with a couple of unisex toilets and showers, far too few for the number of guests. Showers require coins and often offer limited hot water and poor temperature control. Cleanliness is frequently criticized, with reports of missing toilet paper, broken fixtures, and constant queues. The chemical waste disposal point is often blocked or unhygienic, and there is no campers' kitchen or dedicated dishwashing area, forcing tent campers to use outdoor taps. Overflowing bins and a lack of clear signage add to a sense of disorganization. Noise from late-night campers can occasionally disturb the peace, and some pitches feel cramped when busy. While some find the price reasonable given the location, others consider it overpriced for the level of provision. The spectacular setting and superb pub keep many visitors returning, though those seeking modern conveniences may be disappointed.
