This campsite in Norddeich has evolved significantly over recent years, blending a superb location behind a dike with an increasing focus on quality and family-friendly amenities. It serves as an excellent base for cycling trips and day excursions by ferry to the East Frisian Islands, offering easy access to a vast network of trails. The pitches are notably large and well-maintained, with many now featuring individual water, waste, and electricity connections, and some are shaded by trees and shrubs. The sanitary facilities have undergone a remarkable transformation from moldy and cramped conditions in 2021 to top-notch, multiple-times-daily cleaned wash houses in later years, complete with heated towel racks and makeup mirrors. An on-site supermarket provides moderate prices and a fresh bread roll service, while a very good Italian restaurant and an excellent on-site restaurant (noted as a campground highlight) cater to dining needs. The staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, with some even performing minor caravan repairs. The atmosphere has shifted from a restless, noisy construction zone to a peaceful and tranquil environment ideal for unwinding. Families appreciate the kid-friendly environment and excellent playgrounds, while dog owners find the site accommodating, though dogs are restricted to a designated area. However, the Wi-Fi is disastrous, making it unsuitable for remote work, and shower cubicles remain cramped. Reception staff have been criticized for inflexible and unfriendly pitch reservation policies, which has deterred some long-time guests. The climate is pleasant, and the site offers everything a camper could desire, from easy check-in to daily cleaning throughout the grounds. Despite minor drawbacks in connectivity and reservation processes, the campsite excels in cleanliness, pitch quality, and location, making it a top choice for nature lovers and families seeking a comfortable stay.
