Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Hohe Tauern region at the foot of the Großglockner, this campsite is a splendid base for mountain excursions and scenic drives. The surrounding beauty and tranquility provide a perfect setting for a peaceful retreat after a day of outdoor activities. The owners are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and personal atmosphere that makes every visitor feel well-cared for. They are notably accommodating towards dogs, making it a fantastic choice for pet owners. The on-site restaurant is a true highlight, serving first-class meals at very fair prices that add great value to the stay. Spacious pitches used to offer plenty of room, ensuring comfort. While the sanitary facilities are somewhat dated, they were once praised for their cleanliness. However, the experience can vary significantly depending on the season. During peak times, the site suffers from serious overcrowding, with cramped, unnumbered pitches and overstretched facilities. With only four showers per gender and limited toilets, cleanliness suffers noticeably when the site exceeds capacity. Hot water frequently runs out for both showers and dishwashing during these busy periods. WiFi is only reliably available near the reception area, not across the entire grounds. In quieter periods, the surroundings are beautifully tranquil and all amenities are kept clean. Despite these inconsistencies, the genuine hospitality and quality dining options consistently leave a strong impression, making many guests eager to return. It is a place with great potential best enjoyed outside of the busiest weeks.
