This campsite enjoys a lovely location on the banks of Lough Ree with easy lake access, stunning water views, and beautiful sunsets. The staff, particularly owner John, provide personal attention and are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating even for late arrivals. Facilities remain spotlessly clean throughout, including toilets, showers, and a campers' kitchen, though showers require a coin payment which some find inconvenient. The site remains very quiet at night despite being busy, offering a serene atmosphere. Pitches are level, spacious, and with electric hookups, allowing guests to choose their own spot. The site is family-oriented and dog-friendly, with children and pets welcome. A notable feature is a nearby pub just a short walk away, offering friendly music nights, pizzas, and creamy Guinness, and it is dog-friendly. A games room with pool table and vending machines adds entertainment. Lake access is easy for fishing, swimming, and hand-feeding ducks. Wi-Fi is available but can be unreliable; internet connectivity is better than at many campsites but sometimes spotty. The entrance is located on a junction which may require caution. While the closest shop is a 45-minute walk away, driving is recommended for supplies. Despite minor drawbacks like outdated toilet blocks in some areas and the coin-operated showers, the overwhelmingly positive feedback highlights a peaceful, well-managed site with excellent service, cleanliness, and natural beauty. Overall, the campsite provides a relaxing escape and is highly recommended for its location and value for money.
