Little Trevothan is a family-run campsite nestled on the Lizard Peninsula, just a short stroll from the charming village of Coverack and its beach. This site consistently impresses with exceptional cleanliness, from the spotless grounds to the immaculately maintained toilet and shower blocks. The atmosphere is wonderfully peaceful, with guests praising the quietness and dark skies perfect for stargazing. Pitches are generously sized, level, and well-spaced, often with hedging for privacy, though some may require a long electric cable. Electric hookups are reliable, and the proximity of toilets to pitches adds convenience. The staff and owners are repeatedly described as welcoming, helpful, and friendly, often going out of their way to offer local advice or assist with forgotten equipment. Facilities include modern shower and toilet blocks, a laundry room, a dishwashing area, a games room, and a small shop offering essentials, local produce, and firewood. Children are well catered for with a large playground, a football pitch, and plenty of safe running space. The site is very dog-friendly, with two secure dog exercise areas and a dog-wash station, plus easy access to coastal walks. Free WiFi is available, though it can be inconsistent at times, and guests appreciate borrowing free fire pits and BBQs. The gated entrance and quiet hours after 10 PM ensure a secure and restful stay. The location is sheltered from wind and road noise, with the coastal path, coves, pubs, and restaurants all within an easy walk. Some minor drawbacks include push-button showers that run for about 20 to 25 seconds, limited shop selection, expensive laundry machines, and occasional electricity overload issues. Overall, many visitors express a clear intention to return, finding great value for money, and consider it one of the best campsites in Cornwall.
