Lambs Barn Camping Ground
This campsite enjoys an outstanding location just a short walk from the centre of Fowey and a scenic path down to Readymoney Beach. It sits in a large, open, sunny field ringed by cornfields and woodland, offering lovely views and a peaceful, quiet atmosphere at night. Miles of coastal walking are accessible directly from the site, making it ideal for dog owners. The owners are repeatedly described as friendly, welcoming, and full of local knowledge, always ready for a chat and ensuring guests feel comfortable. The site is very basic and back-to-basics, which is reflected in its reasonable pricing, though prices can vary between booking platforms and arriving on site. Facilities consist of portaloo toilets and an outdoor gas-powered shower; however, the toilets have been consistently criticised for being unclean and smelly. A new toilet block was recently added and is still a work in progress for some, though it includes USB charging points. The outdoor shower is hot and refreshing, but the curtain may not close fully and temperature control can be difficult. The site slopes significantly, making it hard to find a flat pitch without ramps or levellers, and bringing levelling blocks is strongly advised for campervans and motorhomes. There is no shade from trees, no WiFi, no rubbish disposal facilities on site, and the nearest shop is a short drive away or a Co-op within easy walking distance. The grass can be long and bumpy, and the site is near the main road, though it remains quiet at night. Despite these shortcomings, many guests loved the location, the welcoming host, the warm shower, and the sense of being immersed in nature, and would return or recommend the site for a short stay or for those comfortable with very basic camping. The lack of electric hookups means this is a true escape for those happy to unplug, and the friendly owners add to the relaxed charm.
