Kampeerterrein Buitenduin
This campsite, nestled in the North Holland dunes near Schoorl village center, is often called the finest in the Netherlands. It enjoys an exceptional location where forests, dunes, polder, sea, and beach are all within easy reach, and a city can be reached in 15 minutes. The village shops and restaurants are walking distance, making it convenient for all, including those with limited mobility. The owners and staff are consistently described as cheerful, helpful, friendly, and attentive. The campsite is small-scale, intimate, and offers a peaceful, quiet atmosphere suitable for all ages, with a playground and sandpit for children and organized activities like bread baking and Sunday evening dune walks. The sanitary facilities receive unanimous praise for being spotless, modern, spacious, and cleverly designed, including corona-proof and gender-neutral options. Pitches are spacious and many include water, electricity, and wastewater connections. Guests appreciate the free WiFi and a practical app for ordering fresh bread. The surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling, with routes starting right at the nearby Buitencentrum Schoorlse Duinen. Many guests return year after year, feeling it like coming home to a place where the atmosphere is sociable and relaxed. However, electricity is limited to 5 kWh per day, with extra charges for exceeding that, and the campervan parking area can be less appealing, situated near stored caravans and parked cars. One incident of illegal barbecue smoking was also reported. Overall, the campsite shines for its beautiful setting, pristine facilities, and warm hospitality.
