Nestled between Twello and the Bussloo recreation area, this campsite offers an idyllic base for cycling and walking tours along the IJssel River to historic towns like Deventer, Gorssel, and Zutphen, with larger cities such as Apeldoorn also within cycling distance. The site is set in a beautiful, atmospheric environment adjacent to a lovely lake and within walking distance of Bussloo, which features swimming, sunbathing lawns, and a restaurant. Guests are warmly welcomed by the owners, sometimes with a welcome package containing local information and eggs. Pitches are spacious for caravans and campers, with electric hookups available, and one camper pitch option is described as luxurious. A standout pitch overlooks a meadow with cows, offering a unique rural experience. Facilities are excellent and well-maintained, with exceptionally clean sanitary blocks stocked with toilet paper, soap, disinfectant, and air freshener, plus materials to leave shower areas dry. The dishwashing area provides wash-up bowls and cloths. A covered bicycle shed allows secure storage and charging for regular and electric bikes. Although there is no permanent camping shop, a daily SRV mobile shop visits, and an extensive bread service operates from the parking area. A food truck offering varied menus visits regularly, with the owners setting up tables and chairs for communal dining, and breakfast options are available on weekends. Wi-Fi is excellent throughout the site. However, the campsite is not open year-round, and pitches have been described as bare or lacking vegetation. During a stay, constant noise from harvest machinery, forklifts, and trucks on an adjacent property was reported, compounded by traffic from the nearby A1 motorway. Additionally, dogs are not allowed on the beach at the nearby lake from May 1st to October 1st. Despite noise concerns, the natural setting and peaceful surroundings are often enjoyed by returning guests, especially during autumn stays. The sanitary facilities are notably clean and always provide hot water, and the social environment allows guests to connect easily. Dogs are welcomed without issue, and the overall quietness appeals to those looking to unwind, though some visitors feel the pricing is high compared to other campsites. The friendly owner ensures guests feel at home, and the spacious pitches give campers plenty of room to relax. The surrounding area is beautiful, perfect for exploring nature or enjoying peaceful walks, and the presence of friendly cows nearby adds a pastoral charm to the stay.
