Perched at 1200 meters in Mallnitz, Carinthia, this campsite offers a stunning base for mountain adventures in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The village center is a short walk away, with restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby. A free shuttle bus and ski bus at the entrance add convenience. Winter sports enthusiasts enjoy a magic carpet on site and direct ski area access. The indoor pool and sauna provide relaxation after outdoor activities. The natural setting is described as a beautiful oasis. The site is an excellent starting point for hiking and biking tours, with very good sanitary facilities and a commendable restaurant. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful. The campsite is praised as one of the best equipped and most friendly in Europe, with ample space for various camper types and lodge rentals. However, the sanitary facilities are a significant drawback, with only five showers for over 100 pitches and limited washing-up stations. Private bathrooms are available for a fee but hard to secure. Despite the friendly atmosphere and comprehensive amenities, the lack of adequate shower and dishwashing capacity is a major inconvenience.
