Hjorthålans Camping & Stugby
Nestled in a naturally beautiful setting, this campsite nonetheless suffers from a persistently unfriendly atmosphere and neglected facilities. Guests check in themselves and select their own pitch upon arrival, which offers a degree of flexibility. The owner, often described as grumpy and unwelcoming, makes little effort to engage with visitors, leaving many feeling unwanted. On a positive note, the homemade cakes sold by the owner are reportedly quite tasty and worth sampling. However, the sanitary block is a serious letdown: toilets and showers are outdated, grimy, and poorly maintained, with cobwebs, dead insects, and dirt throughout. The number of facilities is also very limited, leading to further inconvenience. There is no dedicated disposal point for chemical toilets or gray water, adding to the frustration. Cabins on site are worn and uninviting, and spiders and other insects are abundant. The overall cleanliness of the facilities has been consistently rated very low. The value for money is considered poor given the state of the amenities and the hostile service. While the site offers a peaceful natural environment, the neglect and lack of hospitality mean most visitors are unlikely to return. The combination of rude staff and subpar hygiene standards overshadows any potential appeal. For travelers who prioritize a warm welcome and clean facilities, this is not a suitable destination.
