The site features spacious, level pitches that are enclosed by hedges on three sides, providing excellent privacy. There are only a limited number of pitches, which adds to the quiet, relaxing atmosphere and allows for plenty of open space, including a small football pitch for children to play. Guests consistently praise the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, including hot showers, spotless toilets, and a well-equipped washing-up station with detergent provided. The toilet and shower blocks are repeatedly described as spotless, well-lit, and better than many B&Bs. Pitches are spacious and well-proportioned, with one reviewer upgraded to a hardstanding pitch at no extra cost due to weather conditions. The site is very quiet, offering a peaceful retreat, and boasts gorgeous views, including beautiful sunrises. Access can be a little tight when construction is underway, but the welcome from the owners is warm and communication is excellent, with easy check-in and helpful service like jump-starting a car. The owners, Amy and Roger, are frequently described as friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, offering excellent communication before arrival and personal welcomes on site. The location is a fantastic base for exploring Cornwall, with most destinations in the region just 35–40 minutes away, and a lovely two-mile woodland walk leads to Portreath. The site is also very dog-friendly, with secure pitches and easy access to nearby walks. Additional conveniences include recycling bins, and the site is close to a local pub, shop, and takeaway within walking distance. The starry night skies, thanks to minimal lighting, add to the charm. While some pitches near a workshop may experience daytime engine noise, the site is generally peaceful. The option to hire a fire pit for evenings is a popular feature. The entire site is kept tidy, with well-kept grass, covered washing-up stations, and excellent facilities like a chemical waste point and ice freezing service.
