This peaceful, family-run campsite is a true hidden gem, offering a tranquil escape with generous, level pitches and beautiful rural surroundings. Nestled in quiet countryside with stunning views, it provides a remote and relaxing atmosphere where guests can truly unwind. The exceptionally friendly and helpful owners take great pride in their facility and go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The pitches are spacious and flat, offering plenty of privacy, with electric hookups and water points for convenience. Facilities are spotlessly clean and modern, featuring excellent shower pods and well-equipped utility rooms with kettles, microwaves, fridges, freezers, and laundry machines. The toilets and showers are pristine and thoughtfully equipped with amenities like hairdryers and heating, making them feel almost luxurious. A communal kitchen area with tea, coffee, and a kettle adds to the convenience, with thoughtful extras like tea towels and spare mugs for forgetful campers. A dedicated dog exercise field is a standout feature, allowing dogs to roam freely and safely in a secure space. Children enjoy a large playing field, a maze, and plenty of safe space to run around, making it ideal for families. The site is exceptionally quiet with minimal light pollution, perfect for stargazing and recharging your batteries. Newly planted woodland walks offer a lovely evening stroll and a chance to spot wildlife like barn owls and hares. Recycling facilities are clearly signed and conveniently located, emphasizing the site's commitment to sustainability. While the narrow access roads can be bumpy and require careful driving, this is a local issue rather than a fault of the campsite. The atmosphere is relaxed and mindful, with many visitors bringing everything they need and happily staying on site, using it as a base for day trips to nearby attractions. A small hut listing local vets and prices adds a touch of convenience for pet owners. The pitches are well-maintained, though the ground can be extremely hard, making peg driving difficult. Some visitors noted that the site is currently exposed with little shelter from wind, as young trees are still growing. Facilities are a bit of a walk from some pitches, which parents of very young children should note, and occasional minor issues like temperamental showers or toilet roll shortages were reported. Overall, this is a well-kept, value-for-money campsite that visitors frequently return to, often saying they would happily pay extra for the experience. Guests leave feeling relaxed and promise to return, thanks to the serene setting and warm hospitality. The combination of spacious pitches, immaculate facilities, and a dog-friendly policy makes it a favorite for repeat visits. Bathing in spectacular sunsets, the overall atmosphere is one of total calm and relaxation.
