Field End Campsite is a small, adults-only retreat in the Kent countryside, offering a wonderfully peaceful and eco-friendly escape with just a handful of spacious, level pitches. The site is securely gated with key fob access, providing excellent privacy and peace of mind. Owners Richard and Karen are consistently praised for their warm welcome, helpfulness, and thoughtful touches, such as providing fresh duck and chicken eggs, free firewood for fire pits, and excellent local recommendations. Each pitch has its own fire pit, and many feature electric hookups and individual fresh water taps, eliminating the need to carry water containers. The facilities are meticulously maintained and include spotless showers and toilets, with modern wet-room designs that offer hot and powerful water. There is a covered communal gazebo with fairy lights and a decking area with seating, tables, and a BBQ for guests to enjoy. The grounds are beautifully planted with flowers and feature several communal seating areas, solar lighting at night, and lawn games such as giant Jenga, connect four, badminton, petanque, and boules. Guests can help themselves to fresh eggs from the resident chickens and ducks. The site is very dog-friendly, with the owners' own Bernese mountain dogs adding to the charm, and it reflects Karen's involvement in dog training. A lovely village pub serving good food is about a ten-minute walk along quiet country lanes, and the nearby town of Tenterden offers shops, a steam railway, and vineyards. The location is ideal for exploring local attractions such as Rye, Hastings, Ashford, and the coast. Mobile hotspot signals work fine, and complimentary WiFi is available. A minor hint for improvement is adding a mat at the bell tent opening to keep mud off the carpet. Overall, this is a gem of a campsite that prioritizes relaxation, cleanliness, and a warm, personal touch, making it a perfect spot for couples seeking a quiet, nature-filled getaway without crowds or children.
