Value for money
This compact campsite sits on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, blending a handful of camping pitches with numerous static caravans. The pitch we used was a tarmac pad right in front of the shower block, which worked well for our six-meter campervan. There is no playground or play area, making it less ideal for families with children. The sanitary facilities are kept very clean, though they are on the small side. The shower has a single-lever mixer tap, but the water outlet is positioned so close to the wall that you need some flexibility to avoid accidentally bumping the handle while washing. Despite the compact setup, the pitch price is notably cheaper than many other campsites in the area. The overall atmosphere is quiet and straightforward, with no obvious noise disturbances from neighboring statics. The staff presence is minimal but adequate for the site’s needs. There are no on-site shops, restaurants, or local produce offerings, so you’ll need to venture out for supplies and dining. The site is not particularly dog-friendly in terms of dedicated facilities, but the surrounding dales offer walking opportunities. Laundry and waste disposal services are limited, so plan accordingly. Mobile signal is generally reliable, though WiFi coverage is not mentioned. The pitches lack privacy due to their proximity to static caravans, but the tarmac surface is practical for motorhomes. Road access is straightforward from the nearby road, making arrival and departure easy. Overall, this site is a no-frills option that offers good value for money, especially for self-contained campers who don’t mind a simple setup.
