Perched just a stone's throw from Bude's vibrant town centre, sandy beaches, and the coastal path, this campsite offers an idyllic blend of rural tranquility and seaside convenience. The reception team is exceptionally friendly and accommodating, often going out of their way to assist with last-minute booking changes. Despite its central location, the site maintains a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere both day and night, making it easy to unwind. Guests love the spacious, open field where you can choose your own pitch, though the ground is notably sloped, so levelling blocks for campervans are essential. Campfires are permitted, adding to the laid-back, rustic charm. The toilet blocks are consistently praised for their cleanliness, and showers are generally warm and pleasant when working. However, the shower system can be temperamental, with water pressure and temperature dropping dramatically if someone uses an outdoor tap or washing-up sink. A few guests have noted that men's showers were sometimes out of order and some toilet seats were broken. The site offers a simple, back-to-basics camping experience, with clean, well-maintained facilities. Bell tents are available and described as clean and spacious. The overall vibe is unpretentious and very welcoming to dogs, with fire pits available for hire. The main drawback is the significant slope of the field, which can make finding a level pitch challenging for tents. Some facilities show signs of wear, such as dim toilets, and there are occasional comments about queuing for showers and bins needing emptying. Despite these minor issues, the unbeatable location, friendly staff, and peaceful ambiance make this a firm favourite for repeat visits.
