Nestled in the Kent countryside, this serene retreat offers a spacious and peaceful haven for travelers, especially those crossing the English Channel. Its proximity to the Dover ferry port and Eurotunnel makes it an ideal stopover for a comfortable transit break. The welcome is exceptionally warm, with friendly owners and staff always ready with local advice and a smile. Pitches are generously sized, well-marked, and level, providing ample room to spread out and a sense of privacy. The rural setting is quiet and restful, with lovely views and bordering woodland, and strict quiet hours after 10pm ensure tranquility. Toilet and shower blocks are repeatedly praised as spotless, modern, and well-maintained, with excellent water pressure throughout busy periods. Fire pits are available for hire, adding a cozy, rustic touch to evening gatherings beneath the stars. The location is convenient for exploring Dover Castle, Canterbury, and the White Cliffs, as well as coastal towns like Deal and Broadstairs. Dogs are welcome, with excellent woodland walks right from the field and easy access to footpaths leading to the village. Children enjoy the vast open space for play, while couples and solo travelers appreciate the calm atmosphere. A fish and chip van occasionally visits on summer evenings, adding a local culinary touch. Road noise from the nearby A2 is occasionally audible but tends to fade into the background for most guests. There is no WiFi on site, and electricity is charged separately when available. The management is thoughtful, with clear signage and a dedicated late arrivals area for convenience. While some aspects like dishwashing hot water and the number of showers during peak times could improve, the overall experience is one of excellent value and relaxing simplicity. This campsite encourages repeat visits with its clean, spacious pitches and peaceful vibe, making it a perfect choice for a relaxing stay or a handy overnight before or after a ferry crossing.
