Nestled in the stunning Lake District, this campsite is a dream base for hikers, with direct routes to Scafell Pike and the Western Fells. Surrounded by trees, fells, and fields, it offers breathtaking mountain views and a wonderfully peaceful escape. The pitches are spacious, level, and thoughtfully separated by foliage, providing a good sense of privacy. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with spotless, well-maintained toilet and shower blocks that feature hot, powerful showers. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming, going out of their way to assist guests. The on-site farm shop is a highlight, well-stocked with essentials, local produce, and even fresh croissants and ice cream. A weekend pizza van serves delicious food, and a pub just across the road offers great meals. The location is perfect for walkers, with direct trail access and a short drive to the beach and lake. Families appreciate the playground and ample green space for children to play. Dogs are welcome, with plenty of wildlife to spot and on-site woodland walks. While mobile signal and WiFi are very limited—only available near reception—many guests enjoy the digital detox. The site enforces quiet hours, though some noise after 11pm has been noted. Lighting along paths is insufficient at night, so a torch is essential. Pitches can become boggy after rain, and some tent areas have rocky or uneven ground. The electric hook-up charge and fire pit rental can feel pricey, though overall value is still decent. The site is well-organized, beautifully maintained, and divided into small fields for an intimate feel. Many guests plan to return for its tranquility, convenience, and warm community atmosphere.
