This lakeside campsite on the shores of Lake Chiemsee offers a setting that is both beautiful and challenging. Guests are drawn to the direct water access and the scenic views, which make it an excellent base for cycling and excursions in the region. The staff receives consistent praise for being exceptionally friendly and helpful, particularly during busy seasons. Newer sanitary facilities have been noted as clean and well-maintained, though earlier years reported cramped and poorly lit conditions. An on-site restaurant, especially its pizza, is a culinary highlight that visitors enjoy. A small kiosk provides basic supplies and a bread roll service, which is convenient for quick needs. The dedicated dog beach is a welcome feature for those traveling with pets. Despite these positives, the campsite is plagued by constant traffic noise from a nearby main road, which can be heard across most pitches and disrupts peaceful stays. Pitches are often described as too small and cramped, with some requiring cars to be parked separately. Shade is limited on many pitches, making hot days uncomfortable. Cleanliness of common areas has been inconsistent, with some years reporting sparkling facilities and others describing catastrophic hygiene in the toilets. Management and booking policies receive sharp criticism, including non-refundable fees and extra charges for basic services like waste disposal and water. The cancellation policy is strictly enforced, leading to frustration when weather forces early departures. While some guests plan to return, a significant number state they will never revisit due to the noise, cramped conditions, and poor management. Overall, the campsite's lakeside charm and friendly staff are overshadowed by noise and inconsistent quality.
