This expansive family-friendly campsite stretches along the Atlantic coast, offering a self-contained village-like atmosphere where guests rarely need to leave. The central square buzzes with restaurants, shops, and daily markets, including an excellent fish shop and a well-stocked shopping center. A vast sandy beach invites kilometer-long walks, and a supervised lifeguard patrol ensures safety. The aquatic facilities impress with both a 25-meter covered pool and an open-air swimming pool, catering to all weather conditions. Spacious pitches nestled in the woods provide excellent privacy, with options for full sun or ample shade. Well-marked cycle paths lead effortlessly to Montalivet, Soulac-sur-Mer, and nearby wine country, while a narrow-gauge railway operates in summer between Soulac and Le Verdon. Burgundy and jazz performances at the Theatre de Verdure add cultural flair. However, the sheer size of the site makes a bicycle almost essential, as the beach can be 1000 meters from some pitches and reception 1200 meters in the opposite direction. Nighttime noise near the connecting road between the center and the beach can disrupt sleep. Wi-Fi infrastructure feels outdated and unreliable, and washhouse lighting switches off completely at midnight, creating a safety hazard. Dogs are welcome on the beach with designated areas, and the site remains remarkably calm despite its size. Families with children will find plenty to do, though entertainment for teenagers may be limited. While the surrounding hinterland is mostly vineyards, Bordeaux lies about 85 kilometers away for a day trip. Overall, this well-equipped campsite provides everything needed for a relaxing, self-sufficient seaside holiday.
