Capfun Camping La Licorne
This campsite enjoys a prime position directly on the beach, just outside Dunkirk, with a free bus to the city center at the entrance. The beach access is exceptional, allowing dogs, and the area features excellent cycling paths along the coast into town. The staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. The site is affordable and well-located for exploring Belgium. However, the campsite has experienced significant construction in recent years, with permanent lodges being built and the site resembling a building site. The sanitary facilities are outdated and often described as neglected, with high steps between blocks and a long walk to water. Pitches are not always well-maintained, though some are separated by hedges for privacy. WiFi is expensive and unreliable. The swimming pool advertised was unavailable due to construction, causing disappointment. Value for money is considered poor by some, given the current state. Noise levels have been affected by construction. While kids are welcome, the construction limits their enjoyment. The nearby dike has few open establishments and appears dirty. For a long stay, the ambiance is grim, and the campsite is better suited as a transit stop. Overall, it is not recommended for return visits.
