This campsite is perched directly on the shores of Plöner See, offering a stunning lakeside setting that draws repeat visitors. The pitches are spacious and well-equipped, with grass surfaces and full hookups for electricity, water, and wastewater—even the smaller spots feel generous. The site is especially popular with van owners and dog walkers, thanks to lovely walking trails and secluded, quiet bathing spots where you can swim among the geese. A newly constructed section features modern sanitary buildings, but some washrooms remain only half-finished. Men's showers are fitted with plastic curtains, and a few toilets are completely open, lacking any privacy. The temperature control is inconsistent, with warm, heated floors in the toilet area but chilly, unheated showers that hover around 18°C. The dishwashing station has been described as a disaster. Road noise is intrusive from morning until evening, disturbing the peace. Guests should read the fine print carefully because the site offers no refunds. During one stay, a running wheel loader was left right next to a pitch, and jackhammering in the wash house added to the din. Midday lawnmowing further contributed to the noise. The road noise and construction sounds significantly affect the quietness. Cleanliness in the sanitary facilities is a mixed bag, with modern touches undermined by unfinished areas. Value for money is questionable given the high noise levels and incomplete amenities. Showers are a weak point due to the cold water temperature and lack of privacy. Toilets are the poorest aspect, with partially open stalls that compromise modesty. The full hookups—electricity, water, and wastewater—are excellent and a highlight of the stay. Some local products are available, adding a pleasant touch. The pitch size is notably generous, allowing plenty of space for vans and campers. Despite the drawbacks, the spectacular scenery and direct lake access keep many visitors returning year after year.
