This campsite enjoys a spectacular location along the Rhine, offering views of passing ships and direct access to scenic cycling paths toward Boppard and Koblenz. The site is spacious, with generous pitches that give campers plenty of room to spread out. The reception staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming first impression. The on-site restaurant provides a pleasant and affordable dining experience, with takeaway options available for added convenience. The main sanitary block has been completely renovated and is considered first-class, featuring modern, clean facilities. Showers are new and well-maintained, though they are locked between noon and 5 PM, which can be inconvenient. The toilet block, while dated, is said by some to be always clean, but other guests describe it as extremely dirty with broken tiles and poor flushing. A container-based restroom at the back of the site is cramped and poorly maintained, detracting from the overall experience. The campsite is notably pet-friendly, with a secure fenced dog play area where dogs can roam off-leash and a dedicated dog shower. However, some dog owners let their dogs roam unsupervised and do not clean up after them, leaving feces on pitches despite the designated area. Geese also leave significant droppings on grassy areas, requiring lengthy cleanup before setting up. The swimming pool is visually appealing but is closed until late spring, limiting its usability during the early season. WiFi connectivity is nearly nonexistent across the entire campground, with reliable access only available near reception, and management has acknowledged that improvements are not currently feasible. A persistent drawback is noise from a nearby railway crossing alarm, which can be loud enough to disrupt sleep despite earplugs, especially for guests on pitches near spot 67. The campsite has a lively atmosphere in the central area, while spots at the edges are quieter, offering some choice for campers. Pitches lack natural shade and privacy screens, leaving them exposed to the sun and neighboring campers. The campsite is no longer affiliated with the ACSI discount program and is considered somewhat expensive for the value provided, though reasonable prices remain for the location. Free attractions include outdoor chess, mini-golf, and playgrounds, adding family-friendly appeal. The site serves as an excellent base for exploring the region, with the charming town of Boppard nearby for enjoyable day trips. For travelers who prioritize a central location over modern amenities, this site provides a practical option. It is best suited for active couples and cyclists, while the lack of shade, daytime train noise, and absence of WiFi may deter those seeking a quiet, fully connected retreat.
