Camping Village La Chiocciola
This Tuscan campsite, nestled between Siena and Arezzo, offers a fantastic base for exploring the region's stunning landscapes. Visitors are charmed by the spacious pitches that provide ample privacy, with many set in woodland for a natural feel. The site has undergone a noted revival, with guests in 2025 praising the clean sanitary facilities and well-maintained pool area. Consistent hot water without timers or tokens adds to the comfort in the showers. The atmosphere is exceptionally quiet and peaceful, appealing to those seeking a tranquil retreat. Reception staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming. A recent improvement includes a handy dishwashing sink at each pitch, a thoughtful convenience. However, some areas of the grounds appear unkempt, with piles of leaves left to accumulate. Mosquito repellent is essential, as insects can be bothersome. The on-site bar and restaurant are currently not open, and the mini-market remains nearly empty and frequently closed. The swimming pool is now well-maintained but was previously a public facility shared with locals, leading to overcrowding. The playground is old and poorly maintained, and marked sports fields were overgrown and unusable. Despite these shortcomings, the campsite's large, shaded pitches and serene environment make it an excellent base for day trips to local supermarkets and delightful Tuscan restaurants by bike. The return of the owner and a new team is bringing hope for further revitalization. Overall, it provides a clean, relaxing setting that balances potential with present charm.
