This family-run campsite, beautifully terraced among the hills next to a reservoir, offers a wonderfully serene and picturesque escape. The stunning landscape is perfect for cycling enthusiasts, though you won't find cafes or beer gardens along the trails. Guests are welcomed warmly at reception, and the staff consistently provide commendably helpful and friendly service throughout a stay. The grounds are meticulously maintained, showcasing a high standard of care that extends to the generally good sanitary facilities. A sandy beach at the lake provides excellent swimming and is also enjoyable for dogs, making it a great spot for pet owners. The on-site Greek restaurant serves fantastic meals, adding a local culinary highlight, though in a recent year the food was reported as heavily oversalted. However, the terrain is quite steep, requiring a climb from the lake to reach showers, dishwashing, and the restaurant, which makes it unsuitable for those with mobility issues. The lower-level toilet unit near the lake has only two toilets and often gets crowded, yet it lacks showers and washing facilities. Even pitches by the lake do not guarantee a lake view, as shrubs frequently block the sightline. A barrier-free bathroom exists but was found dusty and with a clogged sink, and its access path is too steep for even an electric wheelchair to manage alone. Dogs are welcome both on the campsite and at the lake, enhancing its appeal for pet owners. The overall atmosphere is one of order, hospitality, and sociability, ideal for a relaxing getaway. While the setting is lovely and peaceful, the steep terrain and limited lakeside amenities are notable drawbacks. Overall, it provides a pleasant and sociable spot with impressive staff and cleanliness, tempered by practical challenges.
