Nestled on the edge of the Sierra de Espuña nature reserve, this terraced campground offers a stunning natural setting ideal for hiking, cycling, and escaping the crowds. The exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, including French-speaking reception, consistently earn high praise for their welcoming service and prompt communication. Pitches are mostly spacious with gravel surfaces, many offering artificial shade and nice outlooks; almost every pitch also comes with water, electricity, and a washbasin sink. The on-site amenities include a well-maintained swimming pool, a cozy bar popular with locals, a shop, tennis, and mini-golf. The village right next door provides a bakery with tasty bread and a fine restaurant. However, the approach road features a steep 20% gradient and can be tricky for large caravans, requiring careful navigation before entering the village. A recurring drawback is the sanitary block, which guests often describe as outdated, poorly maintained, and plagued by intermittent hot water, making dishwashing and showers difficult. Free WiFi is available but bandwidth is limited. While the campsite is bicycle-friendly and the flora is beautiful, wildlife sightings are scarce. Recent management changes have brought some improvements, but visitors should be aware that the heated pool may open later than advertised. Despite these issues, the stunning location, village charm, and warm staff create a high level of guest satisfaction, with many expressing a desire to return.
