Camping Sandaya Les Péneyrals
This campsite has undergone significant changes since being taken over by Sandaya, shifting from a traditional camping experience to a holiday park dominated by chalets. With only about 44 remaining campsites, space for tents and caravans is now very limited. The constant movement of vehicles throughout the grounds creates a noticeably restless atmosphere. Even simple camping pleasures like charcoal barbecues are no longer allowed. Many former campers feel misled, as the current setup no longer matches the camping-focused descriptions provided by booking services like ACSI. The overall sentiment is one of disappointment, with the site now better described as a vacation park than a campsite. Despite these issues, the campsite offers a lively atmosphere with a wide range of activities for children. The pool area is a highlight, providing plenty of fun for families. Cleanliness is a strong point, especially the sanitary facilities which are well maintained. The welcoming team, including the director and staff members like Julie and Natty, creates a friendly and positive environment. Guests can enjoy a week-long stay filled with entertainment and games. However, the campsite has seen a notable decline in quality, leaving many visitors disappointed. A serious incident occurred in the swimming pool area, requiring an ambulance to transport a guest. The management failed to address the situation personally, which has left a lasting negative impression. Compensation offered for the ordeal was minimal, amounting to only two vacation days credit. The lack of communication from staff has severely damaged the campground's reputation. Overall, the experience has been so poor that returning is out of the question for those affected.
