This campsite near Montpellier offers a truly mixed experience that has evolved dramatically over recent years. The location is excellent for exploring Montpellier by bus or park-and-ride, with a large supermarket just five minutes away. The touring pitches come with private sanitary facilities including a spacious rain shower, toilet, and outdoor sink – a standout perk, especially in the affordable low season. However, access roads are narrow, making maneuvering difficult for larger caravans and motorhomes, and pitches are bordered by high curbs that can complicate parking without a motor mover. The vast majority of the grounds are occupied by mobile homes, leaving only about 50 touring pitches for transient campers, so space can be limited. The pool complex was once a highlight with activities and good animation, but recent reports note the pool floor has missing paint that can cut feet, and the pool area isn't cleaned thoroughly in the morning. Cleanliness in the toilets has also been criticized, as they are not cleaned during the day. Bar and restaurant service can be unhelpful and disinterested, with food service ending early and ice cream only available after 4:30 PM. Despite these issues, the campsite is shady and spacious, offering a quiet atmosphere in recent years. Bread and croissants can be ordered at reception after 9:00 AM, but new arrivals may not be informed about the pre-order requirement. The site has a troubled past with reports of altercations and thefts, but more recent reviews indicate a safer environment. Staff quality varies greatly, with some being helpful and informative while others are uncaring. The city of Montpellier itself can be challenging to navigate with a vehicle due to narrow streets and one-way systems, but the bus and tram combination is affordable and convenient. Overall, this campsite has great potential but would benefit from updated facilities, better-trained staff, and clearer communication with guests.
