Camping Rives des Corbières
Set just 100 meters from the beach, this campsite offers a convenient seaside escape with an on-site bar and restaurant. It has been beautifully renovated and maintains a very clean environment, with sanitary facilities cleaned twice daily. The surroundings are stunning, and the site is known for its peaceful atmosphere, especially during the low season when it becomes very quiet and dogs can roam freely. Guests appreciate the nearby cycle paths and the spacious, well-maintained pitches. A large Lidl supermarket is just a seven-minute bike ride away for supplies. The swimming pool is a highlight, providing a refreshing option for relaxation, and remains open into the autumn months. The layout consists of small courtyard-style pitches that create a cozy, intimate atmosphere. Many guests return year after year, drawn by the familiar, relaxed vibe and the safety of the nearby beach compared to the busier Port Leucate. The site's main drawback is the persistent wind, which also makes the area a popular spot for windsurfing and other water sports. The surrounding region of Leucate Plage is known for its artistic community, adding a creative flair to the coastal setting. On the downside, filling a camper’s water tank and emptying the chemical toilet can only be done outside the barrier, with no rinse available. Some pitches are covered in low-growing weeds with sharp spines that can puncture bicycles and dog trailers. Given the rather high price level, guests reasonably expect basic amenities like toilet paper to be provided, but its lack can be disappointing. Travelers seeking good value for money should be aware of these potential inconveniences. The stark contrast in experiences suggests the campsite’s quality varies greatly depending on location, season, and individual expectations.
