Nestled within a small quinta and orchard, this family-run campsite offers a wonderfully peaceful and spacious retreat, especially welcoming for those arriving without a reservation. The setting is idyllic and bucolic, with pitches situated on a grassy meadow beneath fruit and olive trees, creating a charming, natural atmosphere. Guests consistently praise the tranquil environment, making it ideal for hiking, cycling, and escaping the hustle and bustle. The owners, often described as a friendly Dutch couple, are exceptionally kind, helpful, and enthusiastic, always available to offer advice and assistance. A fresh bread delivery service is available each morning, and occasionally communal meals are organized by visiting cooks, fostering a convivial atmosphere. The sanitary facilities receive high marks for being exceptionally clean, with showers noted for excellent water pressure and pleasant temperature, though the block itself is a bit dated. The site is small and cozy, with thoughtful layout offering both open field pitches and more private, separate spots that are spacious and grassy. Access is good even for caravans, though some maneuvering challenges exist for large rigs; extra care is needed when driving on site. The location strikes an ideal balance, with a charming town within walking or cycling distance and interesting cities like Tomar nearby for day trips. Recreational opportunities include small beaches along a reservoir and good walking routes. The campsite's wifi works very well, and guests receive a handy information folder full of local tips upon arrival. While the atmosphere is overwhelmingly peaceful, visitors should be cautious when selecting their pitch due to a potential ant infestation that can plague one's stay. Some note limited shower numbers, but most find it sufficient without issues finding one free. Many visitors find themselves extending their stay, a testament to its relaxing appeal as a well-run base for exploring the region.
