The setting is charming but demands careful navigation: access roads are narrow and steep, and the terrain itself poses challenges for larger vehicles. Pitches are generally on the small side, with many located on slopes; some are muddy when wet, and parking directly beside the tent is often impossible. The reception has been described as chaotic and unfriendly, and the reservation system has drawn sharp criticism for its unreliability, leaving some travelers without a pitch despite prior communication. On the positive side, the sanitary facilities are modern, clean, and spacious, with a touch of local history displayed in the washroom. Showers are well-maintained, though water pressure can be low. The campsite offers two on-site restaurants: one excellent and conveniently located at the entrance, the other affordable and cozy. However, dining options may be limited during the off-season. A swimming pool is also available, though its opening may depend on local regulations. The campsite is no longer part of the ACSI discount program, raising concerns about value for money. Significant early morning noise from site maintenance equipment, such as a tractor operating between 4 AM and 7 AM, can disturb sleep. The overall atmosphere is mixed—balancing tidy amenities with operational disruptions. Public transport stops are just a few hundred meters away, providing an inexpensive link to explore nearby cities like Bilbao. Given the tricky access and small pitches, this campsite is best suited for tents, campervans, or nimble motorhomes, and is not recommended for large caravans or big rigs.
