This campsite serves as an excellent base for exploring Saxon Switzerland and Dresden, offering easy access to cycling routes along the Elbe and public transport links. Generous, shaded pitches are separated by bushes and trees, providing privacy and comfort. The facilities are consistently praised for their exceptional cleanliness and well-maintained condition, with both older and newer sanitary blocks available. Showers are excellent and well-kept, with no deposit required for a key. Staff are repeatedly noted for their friendliness, flexibility, and helpfulness, making check-in smooth and welcoming. A natural swimming lake on-site is perfect for a refreshing dip, though dogs are not permitted to swim in it. A small supermarket with a bakery is conveniently located next to the campsite, offering fresh bread rolls and daily essentials, with a Netto and gas station nearby. Wi-Fi reliability has improved, with a good connection reported, though it may be limited to near reception during busy periods. A guest card provides discounts on local attractions, adding value for excursions to Pirna, Dresden, and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Pitches are graveled, so heavy-duty pegs or screws are recommended for tents and awnings. Some noise from a nearby road can disturb peace on sunny pitches, and enforcement of dog leash rules is lax, leading to complaints about dogs in bathing areas and on lawns. The tent meadow can become crowded, with pitches too close together and parking challenges due to local beachgoers. Additional extra charges for tax and environmental fees have been reported beyond the guide price. Overall, the site combines a peaceful, shady retreat with strong access to urban attractions and nature activities, drawing many repeat visitors.
