Camping Orbitur Foz do Arelho
This campsite rests in a beautiful area near the historic town of Óbidos, offering pleasant cycling routes and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it a convenient base for exploration. The natural terrain is attractive, and the large swimming pool is a notable feature, though it only opens from June 1st, which may disappoint early arrivals. Reception operates from 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM. Staff are described as friendly and willing to go out of their way to help, such as fetching bread when little is open. However, other guests have encountered an unpleasant welcome when raising concerns. The sanitary facilities, particularly the men’s toilets in the upper area, are outdated and poorly maintained, with infrequent cleaning and inadequate water pressure. The overall grounds are poorly maintained, with pitches set in long grass and an appearance that many feel would require a complete rebuild to meet expectations. The on-site supermarket was reported closed, and there is no waste separation system in place. Wi-Fi is only available at the restaurant and reception, not throughout the site, encouraging a disconnected experience. Road access is adequate for reaching the site. Pitches are small and the campsite feels quite dated. One visitor called it the worst campsite of their entire trip. Despite its shortcomings, the location and peaceful character make it suitable for multi-day stays for those who prioritize charm over polish.
