The pitches are often small, unattended upon arrival, and littered with debris like charcoal or cigarette butts, while overgrown grass and weeds further detract from the welcome. Reception staff have limited English, and while some employees are described as friendly and helpful, others are seen as rude or unresponsive, particularly over the phone. Value for money is repeatedly questioned, with nightly rates considered excessive given the level of upkeep. Noise is a persistent issue, with large groups of children and teenagers, late-night disturbances, and barking dogs disturbing the peace. The swimming pool is large and attractive but can become crowded as it is open to the public, with strict rules banning inflatables and balls. The playground is disappointing, and a dangerously unguarded induction feature raises safety concerns for families. Maneuvering a caravan can be tricky due to narrow road access and overhanging branches. Proximity to the beach and easy access to Porto by bus or suburban train are clear advantages; parking in Porto at the Palácio de Cristal garage costs around ten euros for the day. The surrounding area is beautiful and spacious with plenty of trees, offering a pleasant natural setting. Despite its shortcomings, the location makes it suitable for short one- or two-night stays. Many visitors find that the site fails to meet even basic expectations, and only those assigned a good pitch tend to enjoy their time. Overall, this campsite is in need of significant investment and better management to fulfill its potential.
