Perched on the Opatija Riviera hillside in Ičići, this terraced campsite rewards guests with gorgeous sea views from many pitches and a wonderfully shaded setting under mature trees. Its location is superb—just across the road from a scenic promenade, small pebble coves, and a dog-friendly beach area, with shops, restaurants, and a bus stop right at the gate. The site lets you wander and choose your own spot, which feels spontaneous and free, though on busy days it can become chaotic and some pitches are uneven or stony, making tent setup tricky. A small on-site bakery delivers fresh bread and pastries each morning, and a supermarket just outside the entrance covers daily essentials. Several waterfront restaurants and bars are an easy stroll away, adding to the convenience. The atmosphere is generally calm and quiet, especially outside peak summer, and quiet hours after 10 pm are well enforced. Security is solid, but a few reports note wild boar scavenging at night. The staff across the years have been consistently friendly, helpful, and diligent in their work, from reception to cleaning teams. Sanitary blocks receive frequent cleaning rounds and are praised for overall hygiene, yet they show wear and tear and are considered too small for the campsite's capacity. A serious recurring issue is that hot water often runs cold in the showers, particularly during busy evenings, despite 24/7 access. The laundry service is widely regarded as overpriced, and extra charges for electricity adapters can feel stingy. Families appreciate the on-site playground and basketball court, while the free-choice pitch system allows a mix of privacy and openness. Some pitches near the road suffer from traffic noise, but the terraced design buffers much of that. A rare, handy communal dishwashing machine is a welcome surprise for many campers. Paths to the sanitary blocks could be smoother and better lit for easier access. Overall, this is a nature-rich, laid-back base with a prime coastal location and dedicated staff, held back by aging infrastructure and inconsistent hot water.
