Nestled in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Bernese Oberland, this campsite sits on two terraces with a large sports field and a stream where children can build dams for hours. The crystal-clear lake offers a small beach with a volleyball court and good food and drink facilities, creating a dream setting for nature lovers and anglers. However, note that the lake may not be fully filled until early June, so the landscape can appear barren before summer. The sanitary facilities, while a bit dated, are kept functional and clean, contributing to a comfortable atmosphere. Guests consistently praise the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, especially site manager Hausi, who goes out of his way to fulfill every wish. The restaurant serves good food with a scenic view over the lake, adding to the appeal. WiFi signal is decent but depends on your pitch location. A notable drawback is that the site consists mostly of permanent pitches, which some feel detracts from the classic camping experience. On the plus side, attractive tent spots right by the water are available. The surrounding area offers plenty of leisure activities, including an outdoor swimming pool, tennis, and mini golf, making it a recommended summer destination. The campsite is also wonderfully welcoming to dogs, with many visitors returning year after year. Hiking opportunities abound in the area, providing a superb base for outdoor adventures. Overall, this is a charming, well-maintained base for both relaxation and active exploration.
