Tucked away in Abruzzo’s wild heart, this campsite is a haven for peace seekers and nature lovers, nestled beside a nature reserve and within walking distance of one of Italy’s tallest waterfalls. The setting is spectacular, with stunning mountain views, flowing streams, and small lakes scattered throughout the grounds. Guests consistently praise the exceptionally warm welcome from the owners and staff, who go out of their way to make everyone feel at home, even arranging English-speaking guides for excursions. The spacious terraced pitches offer a choice of sun, partial shade, or full shade, with most providing electricity and water on or near the pitch. Barbecue areas and a wonderful communal outdoor cooking space add to the relaxed, sociable atmosphere. The washrooms are simple but kept in spotless condition, though hot showers cost €1 for 4 minutes and dishwashing uses cold water. A small on-site shop sells drinks, ice creams, and local products, and a baker and vegetable vendor visit each morning. There is no restaurant or shop nearby, but a large supermarket is a 15-minute drive or pleasant bike ride away. The area is ideal for hiking, with numerous mountain routes leading through beech forests directly from the site, though steep terrain makes mountain biking less suitable. Dogs are very welcome here, with plenty of cool, shaded space for them to relax. The overall atmosphere remains wonderfully quiet and peaceful, even when scout groups visit, offering a perfect escape from everyday hustle. First-time campers and returning guests alike rate the experience highly, often describing it as one of the most beautiful campsites they’ve ever visited.
